Windows Vista Ultimate Media Center Live TV Freezes while watching

I have a new Gateway GM5474 computer (just three months old) with 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD an d AMD 64 6000 processor running with Windows Vista Ultimate. I’ve attached TV Tuner card with this system which is connected to SA Explorer 4200 Top Box and goes to 24 inch Dell LCD monitor.

Now the problem is when I try to watch TV on this setup, it freezes time to time with breaking sound. Checked all connections again, but the problem persists. Any idea what is wrong and how to fix it?

Is it 64bit Vista? If not, then 4GB RAM is too much for the system and 32bit os can behave like that. You should try running the system with just 2GB of RAM. Apart from this you also need to install AMD's Duel Core Optimizer. You can get the same here http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/...1_9706,00.html.

The problem should be fixed. If you still see any symptoms of the said problem just open task manager while running Media Center and see what processes are running in the background. There must be something creating this issue.
