Roaming Profile not available for one user
I have installed Windows XP on a new laptop. When I am trying to login as the user of the laptop, then I am getting the below message:
"Your roaming profile is not available. You are logged on with the locally stored profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server. Possible causes of this error include network problems of insufficient security rights. If this problem persists contact your network administrator. DETAIL - Access is denied."
The user is able to login, but he is not getting any network drives, he also doesnt get his usual desktop and there is no folder created for him under documents and settings. He is still able to browse network and the user id appears under User Accounts in Control Panel. When I log on as myself, then my profile is loaded normally. So, there might be some access rights on the laptop which is stopping his profile being copied to the laptop? Any ideas?

You need to ensure that access permissions are set appropriately on shared folders that contain user profile folders and to secure the servers in which the users’ data is stored. For more information, visit this website here - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...8WS.10%29.aspx
Re: Roaming Profile not available for one user
You can try to configure a user account in the Active Directory to use a roaming profile:
- Start the Active Directory Users and Computers tool on any computer that has access to the Active Directory.
- Open the Properties dialog box for a user account by right-clicking the account, and then clicking Properties.
- Click the Profile tab.
- Specify a path for the saved profile.
