Cluster DNS, DHCP, WINS Server
We curently have one server running DNS, DHCP, WINS (Not a DC) I couldn’t
find any info on how to cluster a DNS sever .
Can someone point to the right docs on how to go about about clustering a
server running these services.
Any help is greatly apriciated

Why? It makes more sense to implement other methods for redundancy for these
services without using clustering.

Re: Cluster DNS, DHCP, WINS Server
I would tend to agree with Russ.
First, you cannot cluster DNS and if you are using AD Integrated zones with
multiple DC\DNS servers...you already have high availability.
While you can cluster DHCP and WINS, the most you will get is one instance
of each so you would still need to have redundancy either on standalone
servers or another cluster. Putting a cluster together just for WINS and
DHCP is an expensive proposition...so either take the cheaper road or also
use the cluster for other things like file and print services.

Re: Cluster DNS, DHCP, WINS Server
Ari,
review
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sol.../ignsbp_3.mspx
regarding options for providing DHCP availability and fault tolerance (with
pros/cons for each).
As far as WINS clustering goes, as Russ pointed out, there are easier, less
expensive, and potentially better suited alternatives, although it might
make sense to cluster the central WINS server in a more extensive hub
replication topology

Re: Cluster DNS, DHCP, WINS Server
Thanks for the reply,
So i should i rather run ADintergrated-DNS and have fail over from the DC,
then running it on my DHCP,WINS server?
also can some one point me to some info on what (server) service can be
cluterd and what not.
Thanks again
