.eml .email attachments auto open media player

I received few emails in Windows mail with .email attachments. Whenever I click these attachments it directly opens Windows Media Player instead of the attachment.

Any idea what could be the problem and how can I solve this? Please help soon, its very important attachment and I need to view it asap.

Is it forwarded message or a new mail with an attachment? Most of the times it happens when anybody click “Forward as attachment” instead of just “Forward”, it creates .email attachment and such problem may occur.

Thanks for the suggestion buddy that is not in my case. I am also facing similar kind of problem.

When I click the .email attachment, I get an error message saying “no program is configured to open this type of attachment”.

Somebody please help me.

What happens when you download/save the email attachment in your desktop and open ? Does it opens properly? If yes, than do this. Just right click the attachment on desktop and select Open With option. Select “Winmail.exe’ as default application to open these attachments.
