Hi there
I've got Windows Vista Enterprise and my scanning does not work.
When I use the "new Scan" in "Windows Fax and Scan" I get this error:
"The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or
because it has no enabled devices assosiated with it" , but I can use
the printer and on HP's website there is no driver/programs to
install!!
Please help.

Do a search/look around here on the G85 -- someone found their Gateway
laptop did not include the G85 drivers which are certainly in my
"retail" VISTA Ultimate.
You'll see a message from me showing where those driver files are
located on my computer -- you could check yours.
What PC are you using?
A thought, but it's a question not a statement:
I understand the Enterprise version is intended for use by Enterprises
(surprise!) where the IT people will establish what should actually be
installed on each computer. I would imagine but don't know that this
would include specifying what VISTA components and what drivers (for
what hardware) should go down the line.
If this is the case, did you do whatever an IT manager has to do to get
your PC setup to do what you want it to do?

huwyngr you mention you have listed the driver paths for the G85 for vista, i cannot find this post anywhere, any chance you could repost the details as i am attempting to fudge an install on the Window 7 beta and cannot find the drivers on my vista install as i have managed to corrupt it through the Windows 7 beta update feature... any help would be much appreciated.
