how to play avi video using Windows Media Player 11
We have 5 Dell computers in our office and administrator has banned us to install any third party applications on any of these computers. Now we have few movies in AVI format that is not playing up in Windows Media Player. Infact it is playing just Audio and not video. As we are banned we cannot even install VLC.
So can you guys please tell me how can we make Windows Media Player to play avi properly? Thanks in advance.

I don’t know what could be the problem in your case because I am able to play avi files properly in my WMP11. Also you can check this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316992, Microsoft has mentioned that Windows Media Player 11 is supports avi format.
Anyways, if you are facing any problem, you can fix it by installing K-Lite codec but remember, your admin has banned you installing third party programs.

OK, thanks a lot buddy for the help. We asked and got permission to install one program and as you suggested, we installed the coded and everything seems to be working fine now.
