Anyone Know Anything About Edid Checksum Errors?
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T60p running with Windows XP. Suddenly i noticed that my Event Viewer is generating two error messages during boot up. I don’t have any idea what could be generating. The error is as follows:
“Error ID 43033 Edid
Checksum error and Error ID 43044 Unknown Edid version, both Category DAL, Source ati2mtag.”
Somebody please help me out with this. Thank you.

Hello Jemond. I have a small confusion with the error code you mentioned. Can you simply copy paste the entire and exact Error message as mentioned in the Event Viewer. To me it seems like the EDID is probably corrupt or damaged, one of two the Video Card or the MOBO drivers. As per troubleshooting i will suggest you to better try updating the Motherboard and Video drivers to the most recent version. And instead of getting the same from Windows Update, i will suggest you to better download it from Manufacturers website.

Adding to the above, EDID is Extended display identification data:

Thanks for your helps guys. I tried running SFC which completed scanning the drive successfully without any error message. Is this normal or is there supposed to be a log file of its results somewhere? And yeah, i already updated my Mobo and Video card drivers. That makes no difference. What now?
