I have got Windows Vista and having some sort of trouble updating to the December 2007 DST update. I have already read most of the article on the error code and it all points to the Microsoft Office problem. I am using OpenOffice however. And the worst part is that the updater tried to make me download and install the Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 1. Something is wrong for sure I think. I am also getting another problem with CAPI2 Error Code 11. Anyone can help?
Even in my computer the KB942763 upgrade is continuously trying to install and then the update fails automatically? Can anyone also tell me how do I get rid of this update or any other way of getting the Update engine to ignore this update?
Yes, it is possible to hide the update and it wont show up again, you need to go to Control Panel and then Windows Update. Under that if you can see the same update that is available, then you will be able to hide it until a real fix for the same problem can be found.

The error code that yo are getting is not because of Microsoft update problem. If you have COMODO firewall installed in your computer then it is the main software that is interfering with the download and the installation. So you can first try to uninsatall the firewall and then try to let windows update install it.
