Error Number: 0x800CCC90
I am running on Windows Vista operating system and using a Nod 32 antivirus. I have been using the Windows Mail without any issues but recently when I started the same program then an error message came up which says:
Account: 'imap.gmail.com', Server: 'imap.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '*OK Gimap ready for requests from 89.205.36.82 4if6509112fge', Port: 993, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90
I am now not able to send or receive any emails. Can anyone please help.

The error code 0x800CCC90 that you are getting on the IMAP is happening due to the Antivirus software that you are using. You need to disable the email scanning for incoming and outgoing email in your antivirus system. If it will still not work then the only option left for you is to uninstall the antivirus software and then install different antivirus like avast which is compatible with the Windows Mail. Remember one thing but, whatever antivirus software you are installing you should never select the email integration scanning feature on it.

This problem can be also solved by going into Tools >> Accounts >> select that mail account >> Properties >> Servers and then unchecking the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication." I did this on my computer and now am not facing the same problem anymore. Also see to it that you dont have Norton installed on your computer because that is also the root cause of the Windows Mail problem in Vista.
