File Opening Error - "Version Not Supported"
We got a project in our office which was to be made in Windows Movie Maker. We have a group of 10 colleagues, few of them have created the project and burned it to a CD and rest of us had mailed or given the projects in Flash drive. Now the problem is all projects that were burned on disk are playing fine but our boss tries to play the projects from USB drive or the emailed one, he is getting an error message saying:
"The file C:\Documents and Settings\...1-Japanese.MSWMM was created by a version of Windows Movie Maker that is not supported." (where 1-Japanese.MSWMM is the name of the file).
Damn, what kind of error is this? I haven’t seen it before. Can anybody please provide some solution for this?
Update: Forgot to mention my boss system configuration:
Windows XP Professional
Service Pack 2
Windows Movie Maker 2.1.40
Re: File Opening Error - "Version Not Supported"
The reason for this error is very simple. The people who burned the project on CD might have obviously burned the actually movie in .WMV format, right? And you guys who have sent him mail or via flash drive would have given him the project file, not the movie. And the project file only open on the system it was created unless all the files used in the project is present on another system as well.
