RPC server is unavailable
Hi,
For some time now we are having some problems with site-servers.
All our site servers are configured as followed:
Windows 2003 R2 x86
ISA server 2006
Member server
The site servers are connected trough a L2TP/IPsec site-to-site VPN
connection.
After some time, some of the servers get the following error when trying to
log on using a domain account:
"The system cannot log you on due to the followin error:
The RPC server is unavailable
Please try again or consult your system administrator"
The clients on the remote site can authenticate just fine.
The only solution is to reboot the server. After that we can login
succesfull for a period of time. The computer can't connect to the domain,
there are also group policy errors in the log "cannot query for group policy
objects..."
Does anyone know why this can happen?
Thanks in advance

did you ever get an answer to this? i'm having the same problem on one of my
servers, it's also windows 2003 r2. funnily enough, it's hosting a vmware
windows 2003 r2 server which doesn't have this problem.

Hi Andrew,
Nope, still didn't heard anything.
Because no one knows I think I'll report a call with Microsoft.
Kind regards
