I have been trying to uninstall WSUS 3.0 from Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 Server but whenever i am doing that i get an error message saying "The verson of WSUS installed is incompatible with this version. You should use Add Remove Programs to WSUS (Error 0x80041453)" in event log. I am already trying to remove it from Add / Remove Programs even after that it keeps on saying the same thing.Any help will be appreciated.
In order to uninstall WSUS 3.0 completely follow below steps:
Uninstalling Windows Internal Database:
Open command prompt type "msiexec", hit enter and use below key as per operating system platform:
For 32-bit platforms, use: msiexec /x {CEB5780F-1A70-44A9-850F-DE6C4F6AA8FB} callerid=ocsetup.exe
For 64-bit platforms, use: msiexec /x {BDD79957-5801-4A2D-B09E-852E7FA64D01} callerid=ocsetup.exe
Uninstalling WSUS:
Go to start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > Select Windows Server Update Services and click on Uninstall.
After that in remove Windows Server Update Services pane click on Database > click on Log Files > click on Downloaded Updates and click on Next for starting uninstallation process.
Make sure that you are not attempting to interrupt the process in any way, once uninstallation process gets completed click on Finish to exit the wizard
Uninstalling WSUS Administration Console:
Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Select Windows Update Administration Console and click on Uninstall.
Just follow the steps in same pattern and you should not face any error in uninstalling WSUS 3.0.
