Unable To Log You On Because Of An Account Restriction
I’m using Windows XP on Sony Vaio laptop. Today morning I was noticing some weird behavior of this laptop hence I went to Task manage to see what is wrong. There I found a process named SVEHOST.EXE. I searched for the same and found that is a kind of virus. I ran my Antivirus to clean the computer and in between laptop turned off.
After restarting it again i got prompted to enter my password in order to login. This is surprising because I have 2 accounts of this laptop and none of them are password protected. Password is blank for both of them. Then why is it asking me to enter password? Also when I press enter keeping the password blank, it wont allow me to login.
Later I thought to fix the problem by login in Safe Mode but still it is asking me for the password and wont allow me to login there as well. Do you guys have any trick to get logged in at this stage without formatting the system? Thank you.
RE: Unable To Log You On Because Of An Account Restriction
That really a huge problem. But anyways, there are solutions available for the same. If you have Xp installation disk with you than try to restore the system to last restore points where your system was virus free and was working fine. You can do this by going to recovery console using Windows Installation Disk. Alternatively you can also use any Boot disc that will you to reset the admin password again.
Just search on Google for boot Disk and you will get various results for the same. The best I can suggest you Linux bootable CD.
Re: Unable To Log You On Because Of An Account Restriction
I had experience such problem just couple of weeks ago. I don’t know whether it will work for you or not but in my case I just put my login user name in the login line and as the password was blank I just pressed Enter and it logged me in. So you should just give it a try.
