Boot sector virus?

I got below message when i tried restoring MBR on my drive:
Caution: this hard disk may be infected by virus!
I have to press return key after the above warning to boot in to windows other wise my system wont boot. I have Kaspersky installed in my system and it is not reporting anything, i wanted to know if this can be a Boot sector virus?

Yes it is a boot sector virus, i have come across many people who have reported same error message, anyways you can try out below workaround for fixing it.

• First boot from your windows cd/dvd until you reach "Welcome to setup" screen.
• Once you reach there press R for repair your system, press 1 for entering windows directory, enter administrator password, type "C:\WINDOWS>fixmbr" without quotes and hit enter.
• The above command will change the boot record and erase the virus as well.
