Hibernate won't power off, it restarts vista
I am running windows Vista Ultimate (64bit) on my desktop. When I click on the option to send my PC in Hybernate, instead of powering off the system it restarts. I thought there would be some settings problem, copied hibernation settings from my laptop to this desktop but still it is doing the same thing.
Please help me out. Thank you.

I was also facing the same problem since a long time but managed to fix it suddenly. Yeah, by suddenly I mean I don’t know what exactly I did but it was something like this:
- Go to Start and type MSCONFIG, press Enter.
- On the opened window go to Boot tab.
- Here under boot tab just uncheck all options.
- Click Apply > OK and restart the computer.
It should work fine now.

Hey here is the solution that worked for me with the similar issue on 64bit. Right click My Computer > Manage. Now select Device Manager from the left Pane. On the right, click on network Adapter. Right click the card and make sure wake-on-lan is turned off. If not, turn off it now. Make sure you do this for all network cards. Once done, exit device manager, restart and you are done.
