Internetcalls and Voipwise sound device problems

I have been using Internetcalls and Voipwise, the same concept as Skype
basically and I never had a problem with Windows XP. Ever since I got a new
computer with a Vista basic, I am unable to make calls as the same message
'call failed due to sound device issue' comes in with a suggestion that I
check with Vista help and support.
I have tried everything I could think of, including going through the sound
device trouble-shooting instructions..but no luck so far.
Please Help!!!

What did Internetcalls and Voipwise tech support say?

Try to change compatibility with Windows XP by right clicking on the shortcut and choose properties. Good luck
