Unless you get a new Vista driver from the maker it will not work. To
install the driver go to their website, either find a driver by the model
number or just software version, download it and install. You may need help
from their "live talk" which is an email exchange. Works pretty well.
Prepare your questions in advance and paste them into the window.
What a shame that you will buy microsoft software and microsoft creates a new
operating system that will not run that software. you then have to spend more
money on new software to replace the old software that is only good until a
new operating system comes along. Oh thats right, they did this to Xbox
customers when the Xbox 360 came out.
Thanks microsoft!
Hi john, i downloaded the 60 day free trial of the digital image starter
edition 2006, it very much like picture it 7, except it does not have frames
on it, like picture it 7 or do you not get everthing with it being free, i
have read the help page & it says you can do it, but there is no frames to
use.
Correct...you only get the clipart and
projects with the retail version.
now i can buy
Digital image starter edition 2006. Thank again.
Look for.....
"Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006"
(there is a Vista compatibility patch
available for this version)
MS Digital Image 2006
*Vista Compatibility* Update
http://tinyurl.com/w5u58
or...
"Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006
Anniversary Edition" (this version is
optimized for Vista and doesn't require
the patch)
This software line has been discontinued
but it may be possible to find copies at
online sites like eBay and Amazon.
I too was having this same problem with the install for Microsoft Greetings on Vista.
I finally found a fix for it. This worked for me and I can now use my Greetings program again! Maybe it will work for some of you too.
This is what I did. Put in the Greetings disk, go to "Computer" and locate the Greetings program. Then locate the applications setup .exe file. Then right click on the .exe file and then select "properties". Then click on the compatibility tab. From there you will pick the Windows XP operating system. That's it!!! Now try installing the Greetings program.
That's all I had to do and now it works!
Supposedly this will also work for others programs that don't want to install on Vista.
I have Greetings 2001.

Hello:
I have just upgraded from an XP computer to one with Vista. I LOVE to work with my Picture It 2001 software, but the new computer will not let me save and most of the time it will not even let me work on my pictures. What can I do????? I am desperate! Any suggestions?
I do not believe it is possible to make Picture It 2001 run in
Vista, unfortunately - one reason I'm hanging on to my old XP machine.
You are correct. It won't run - at least not properly.
Worked with Picture It for years...at home and at work. I refuse to give it up. I have successfully installed it on both new XP and Vista OS ....the trick is making sure your Internet Explorer is not above 6.0. I keep a copy of ie6 on a thumb drive. Supposedly Vista needs ie7 or above, but I found an IT wiz who strips all the junk off the Vista OS to bare bones...then installs ie6. Install PicIt...then upgrade your ie6 to 7. It's worked on 6 hard drives so far...including 2 laptops.
