Windows Vista crashing with bluescreen on nvlddmkm.sys on boot

I am using a Nvidia 7600GT GPU in my system. I am having a 4GB RAM and Windows Vista Ultimate. It is a new system. I and friend are making a new system for gaming purpose. We had planned to use XP then later on drop the idea of using it. We thought Vista will be much better. After installation things went fine. It almost 4 months the system is is working nicely. There were certain updates that I had seen in the morning. I had allowed the installation. At evening when I went to check the system it crashes on nvlddmkm.sys. I am not sure about the file. But I think this would be about the graphic. Some new Windows Update has screwed up the driver.

This happens to me before. I am too having a Nvidia card and Windows Update has screwed the driver. It looks it download some kind of incompatible files or simply replace the. The .sys file that you had mentioned in the display driver. To fix that there are two things you can do. Run System Restore. If that does not work then you have to go Control Panel and uninstall the updates. Later on visit nvidia site and update the gpu driver.

So somehow for new cards it is possible to reupdate the drivers and fix this kind of issue. That is the reason you have System Restore feature. It allows you to revert back to old settings.
