80048862 Error Messnger 8.1

Hi, this is Windows XP SP2 with Live Messenger 8.1. Since past three days don’t know what has went wrong I’m no more able to login to my messenger. Whenever I try login, I receive an error code ‘error 80048862’.

While searching help on web I found few guys saying it could be because of Firewall or if the system clock is improper. Well in my case there is no Firewall and the clock is also proper.

So can anyone please tell me what should I do to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

I think there is some problem with the messenger connection itself. You should try the Connection Troubleshooter. Go to Menu Tools -> Options -> Connection. Run the troubleshooter and let me know what happens.
