XP Media Center 2005 Edition, Restore or Boot Disk
I have a Dell inspiron laptop and have installed linux on it. But since I was having the dell's system restore program running in the background there it hid windows from the linux installation and was deleted. I also didnt receive any boot disk with my machine from Dell. But they gave me a card board disc that tells me to use dell system restore that was deleted or either to contact microsoft through the icon on my laptop, which was also deleted. So, now I am without any copy of Windows operating system for reinstallation, even though I purchased a legal copy of Windows XP media center. Can anyone tell me how do I get a backup copy of XP media center 2005 or a boot disk from microsoft website? Thanks.
Re: XP Media Center 2005 Edition, Restore or Boot Disk
I would first of all suggest you to contact Dell Support and ask them for the restore disk you are supposed to get. If that didnt go well, then the next thing you can do is to buy the Microsoft Media Center Edtion 2005 OEM CD from either microsoft or dell.

It will be better if you can contact Dell for support, since you have an OEM version of Media Center Edition, because microsoft is under no obligation to give you the installation media, since you have purchased it from the vendor.
