Windows XP Clock

I am running Windows XP and the clock in it will not have the proper timings? So, will there be any new Windows update for solving this case? Thanks

It is possible that the Cmos battery on the board might be failing, so replace it. There is also a registry tweak to update the time more frequently but first replace the battery. Anyhow, to change the time through internet, go to start and then run and then type regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\Ntp Client and then double click SpecialPollInterval in the right side and select Decimal. Now change the decimal value in seconds. If you would like it to be every hour then it will be 3600 seconds, daily will be 86400 seconds.

You definitely need to replace the battery if the clock resets to some other timings at bootup. Also, you can download some free tool which will keep your computers clock synchronized with an atomic clock across the internet. Just search it on the internet and download and install it in your computer.
