WinXP Pro shutdown message "End program - WMS idle"
I am having a Windows XP Pro SP2 laptop running with Office professional 2003. Since last couple of days whenever I try shutting down my laptop, I use to get an error stating “End program - WMS idle”. It appears every time I try to shutdown the system. I tried to search it on web and came to know that it is related to Contact Manager 2005.
Now I think it is a part of my Office hence I just cannot uninstall it. Do any one of you have any idea how can I fix it ? Please help.
RE: WinXP Pro shutdown message "End program - WMS idle"
Yep the Error is related to the Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 and it appears because it usually opens a MAPI session that remains open when you try to shut down Windows. Hence it prompts you to end it. The every simple solution is always right click the Communicator 2005 icon in the taskbar and select Exit.

Re: WinXP Pro shutdown message "End program - WMS idle"
Well there is a Hotfix launched by Microsoft for Office Communicator 2005. You should download and apply the same, it is just 4.5MB.
Download it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=10628
you can get more info about this hotfix here http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=949280
RE: WinXP Pro shutdown message "End program - WMS idle"
Thanks for the helps guys. Before checking your post I used a registry cleaner suggested by my technician to delete NMBgMonitor and that fixed the problem.
BTW, I’ll keep this hotfix for my future reference. Thank you.
