WMP 11 and 3GP Files
I’m using Windows XP with Windows Media Player 11 where I was able to play my mobiles videos which are in 3GP format comfortably. But now when I try to play the same files, it gives me the following error message:
“Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file”
Can anyone tell me what went wring suddenly?

Re: WMP 11 and 3GP Files
Don’t know what could have went wrong but don’t worry, you can fix the problem easily by installing FFDShow. Just download and install latest version of FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder: with AMR enabled and the problem will be solved. You can get more details about the same here.

Re: WMP 11 and 3GP Files
I even faced problems with many such media format in Windows Media Player. Hence I quit using WMP and started using VLC. Also people who don’t want to use VLC can go with Real Player or Quicktime. They play 3GP very comfortably.
