PNG Icons in Vista?
Hello, everyone!
I am here out of desperation. I want to customize vista's icons, and I hear that now they use compressed PNG files. I am not sure how to go about doing this and turning them into ICO files without them loosing their ability to become larger.
What I am saying is HOW do I use the PNG files that generally come with Vista Icon packages? Also, how do I change file icons in vista? (Such as MP3 extention files, PSD, such and such)

Re: PNG Icons in Vista?
Hi kichiru,
Vista uses then newer 256 bit ICO files for it's icons. You can use
older ICO files, but they will not go to the large or extra large icon
views. There is a great program called "Axialis IconWorkshop" that will
convert the PNG files to 256 bit ICO files easily for you. You can
download a 30 day fully functional trial version at this link.
