My system runs on windows xp and today i was installing 50 updates that i had downloaded but some of them failed. I have checked out the computer's log and have come across Errors 0xf200 and 0xf201. I never had any issue in installing updates previously, Can there be something wrong with the update or there is something wrong going on in my system??? I don't know what to do , i really need help in fixing this.
Try performing below steps and see if you are getting any help from the same.
- Go to Start > Run > type "net stop wuauserv" without the quotes and click on OK.
- Now navigate to WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution and delete SoftwareDistribution , make sure that you are deleting it from recycle bin as well.
- Once you are done with the above steps, download Windows Update Agent [x86] and KB927891.
- After downloading them double click WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe for installing WUA , install KB927891 and reboot your system. Upon reboot Cross check that Automatic Updates service is running and you should not have any issue in downloading and installing update now.
