i believe registration occurs when the resource is brought online. So, any
time it moves or changes its state to online, for whatever reason, it will
perform a registration.

I sort of thought that also. So if I disable the register this connection in
DNS in the TCP/IP properties, advanced, DNS area for the NICs, would this
over ride or stop the cluster name service from being able to do the
registration? I heard now I can create a manual DNS record and disable the
remove items that are stale option but if something tries to do a dynamic
update to the record it re enables the scavenging.? Thanks for the help!!
