how to convert Lotus .lwp and .123 files to Office?
I was having Lotus that used to write Office formats but now I do not have this software any more. The new computer that I bought has Office 2003 but it is not able to read the Lotus files. I downloaded a converter called KeyView for Lotus on the Lotus ftp site but it only shows the text of Lotus files - formatting and formulae are lost, so the spreadsheets and some documents need a lot of work before they are usable again. So, is there any other solution? Thanks.

Have you tried out Open Office by downloaing it from here - www.openoffice.org. Its not a huge file and it will read and write both Lotus and Office files as well.

Thanks for the reply, but I purchased a copy of Lotus Smartsuite 9.8 from some website after reading for some solution. I should have read from this post before purchasing it, I just found it via the support pages on the microsoft website.

Apart from the third party softwares not from microsoft there are many ways to do this. I have got myself a Lotus Smartsuite and it can be saved into Microsoft Office files in the Save As option. But all the formatting are gone.
