Excel 2007 'life boat hang'
Hi, I’m using Windows Vista with Office 2007. Since past couple of days I received an error message saying “life boat hang” with my Excel. Whenever the error occurs, Excel gets freezed completely for few minutes.
Can anyone please tell me what is meant by this error and how can we prevent it occurring again?

Damn. I’m using office from 7 years but I have never seen any such error with any office application. So don’t have any idea when and where it appears. Can you just post a screenshot for the same?

Note, earlier excel was just freezing with the error ‘officelifeboathang’ but now it started crashing.
Re: Excel 2007 'life boat hang'
There could be two reasons for the same. First could be mapi.dll which has been modified. And secondly there could be some problems with McAfee apps. You will need to find it out.
Re: Excel 2007 'life boat hang'
Well as per me i think it would be related to Office Document recovery. If you start Excel in Office safe mode, (hold control key while starting) see if you can open the file then resave it. It may have some corruption in the file in which case you may also want to check with the folks in the MS Office Excel discussion group.
