Any new suggestions about how to make an external microphone work?
I've worked through many of the suggestions within this forum, but can't make
either external microphones or external speakers work when plugged into my
Vista Home Premium laptop. (Nor for that matter does it pick up anything
above a whisper through my webcam's microphone, an Advent with USB
connection, despite all the settings being at full volume.)
I cannot believe that this forum would be so full if there is not a genuine
problem with the system and can only hope that Microsoft are solving it as we
speak.
Thanks for your help,
Judith

Yes - I've even put it up to +30db to no avail.
