Also, I forgot to tell you that I am running fujitsu laptop with Windows XP Service Pack 2. The game was running fine previously, but now it is not working and stops all of a sudden.
You can try to look to check what programs are running in the background and check if one of them is causing the issue. You can also use msconfig.exe to do a selective startup and then run the game and see what happens. You can also do a full scan with up to date antivirus software and see if that helps.
You will have to post the complete stop error report here. For that disable the automatic restart on system failure, which will help by allowing time to write down the stop code properly. So, right click on my computer and then select Properties > Advanced > StartuP and Recovery > System Failure and then uncheck the box before Automatically Restart.
