Hi there,
Yes I can;)
Never take any hardware drivers from windows update unless you like blue
screens after rebooting.
If your hardware works fine: than just leave it be working just fine! Just
the old rule: if it ain't broke do not try to "FIX" it.
If your hardware is not working properly go to the manufacturers website for
an updated driver.
Best regards,
Michel Denie.

Same error happens with the "updated" driver for the PhotoSmart D7100 -
Previous posts are correct in that my printer is working fine with the old
driver
O/S: Vista Ultimate (Clean install)
P4 3.2 CPU
2 GB RAM
Hi there, That is why I warn people not to take driver updates from WU.
And do not worry, your printer will use just as mutch ink with an old driver
as it will with a newer one, neither will your printer print faster or
slower;)
Best regards,
Michel Denie

Hello Michel,
I noticed that you have been advising everyone to just used their old
driver, in my case, I bought a new hp notebook with the vista home premium
installed, as such I didn't upgrade. When I installed the program for the HP
Photosmart C6180 AIO, i also got the same error as the rest of the people in
this thread...can you help me?
I already went to the manufacturer website & customer service centers, they
have no solution, they said that its a window vista problem...
Btw, I have another computer running on XP, the C6180 is running seamlessly
without any problem.
Thanks for your help or advise in advance!

Same problem, and I read all your other posts basically saying not to use MS
update unless you have problems. Unfortunately for me, I do have problems,
and HP's website does not provide drivers for vista, saying they are provided
automatically by Vista. I have a HP 6110 all-in-one printer, and it often is
showing-up as offline, or I have to reinstall it to get it to work. I was
hoping this update would resolve many of these issues, but reading through
countless forums have led me nowhere as I simply cannot find a downloadable
driver (from HP or Microsoft) for this printer for Vista. I've tried
uninstalling the drivers from device manager and both automatically let Vista
install them as well as run windows update to see if it would take, all with
the same results as indicated by the other posters. Any further advice would
be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,
If so so not may options are left: only 3:
1) Try a XP driver for your device: it sometimes works under Vista.
2) Buy a new printer which is Vista ready
3) Downgrade to Windows XP.
Infortunately many anufacturers are making you buy new hardware due to not
making Vista drivers for your "old" devices.
Best regards,
Michel Denie
