I am using Windows Vista on my computer and for some reasons I dont know why, I am not able to send any mails via the Windows Mail on my new laptop. When I try to do the same then I get an error that states "The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'wed', Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 530, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E. Can anyone please help me?
You can try to use the below servers for Yahoo and see if that helps:
Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mail.btinternet.com
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.btinternet.com
using SMTP port 587
If that still doesnt work then maybe your server pop3 might be incorrect, and therefore you will have to ask your internet service provider for the correct information.
You have to make sure that "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" is not tick marked or checked, if it is then simply uncheck it. You can do the same by going into Tools >> Accounts >> your email >> Properties >> Advanced. Since you might have already ser up an email account somewhere then you will have to enter their server names and the email account username and the password as well.
