Slipstream Office 2007 update's
I am having a Office 2007 running on my Windows XP system. About 2 months ago, I updated my Office but recently I needed to format my entire hard drive and reinstall operating system and all other softwares including office. After installing Office form the installation disk I found that it is like the earlier one, without updates. Now again I need to install updates from start. Well I’ll do it but am afraid for about the future days. I mean, if in case I need to format my PC again, I’ll need to install updates again and again, right ? So I wanted to know if there is any way to slipstream Office updates in the Installation CD ? If yes, please let me know how. Thank you.

As far as I know, instead of the patching the basic CD, Microsoft is basically chaining of the patches during Office 2007 setup if you're not imaging a hard drive. The contents of the Office Network Installation Point (which can be the contents of one or more Office product CDs) and customization patches are sent to the Local Installation Source (LIS) [\MSOCache] on the PC and then setup is run from the LIS.See this http://microsoft.com/office/ork

I think Yes you can do it. If you succeeded to copy the downloaded updates from MS Site copy it somewhere on your desktop. Now make a new folder named Office 07 on your desktop or anywhere on the HDD, copy entire installation CD content to that folder. Now move the downloaded updates to the Updates folder inside the Office 07 folder. That’s it. Now burn this entire Office folder on a DVD and you are done.
