inetinfo.exe process is allocating more memory than usual
Can anyone help me with the error that I am getting from the past few weeks and even a system restart will not solve this issue.
The inetinfo.exe process is allocating more memory than usual. The following services are hosted by this process: IISAdmin, POP3SVC, RESVC, and SMTPSVC.
For more detail, review the event logs for events related to these services.
It may help to stop and then restart these services.
You can disable this alert or change its threshold by using the Change Alert Notifications task in the Server Management Monitoring and Reporting taskpad.
RE: inetinfo.exe process is allocating more memory than usual
Even I am getting the same message everyday at the same time. It is immediately followed by this message:
A large amount of memory is committed to applications and processes.
Consistently high memory usage can cause performance problems.
To determine which processes and applications are using the most memory, use Task Manager. Monitor the activity of these resources over a few days. If
they continue to use a high level of memory and are less critical processes or services, try stopping and then restarting them.
You can disable this alert or change its threshold by using the Change Alert Notifications task in the Server Management Monitoring and Reporting taskpad.
I have checked that over the time that this message seems to occur around 15 mins after a restart, and then it continues at that same time every day until the next time I restart and the cycle starts again. Is there any fix for this issue? Thanks.
Re: inetinfo.exe process is allocating more memory than usual
Can you try to increase the monitoring threshold value if you are still using the default value that the SBS assigns when its installed.
Re: inetinfo.exe process is allocating more memory than usual
I just checked what the value was and it is set to 2gb, but the "30-day counter average" seems to be above 3gb. So, does this means that there is a memory issue? Should I need to look at increasing the server's memory? Currently, I have 2gb of ram in this server.
