Webcam installation problem
I am not able to install Advent ADE-13 webcam, which is made by Sonix I think. I purchased the web cam pluged it in my laptop. It was recognised but then it gave an error message that said "there was a problem with the installation of the new hardware, this hardware might not work properly". I am running Windows XP SP2 and the webcam works on other laptop properly. Can anyone please help?
RE: Webcam installation problem
It is possible that your camera is conflicting with another Device in the IRQ, like your Mouse or printer, Keyboard, etc. You can try to change the IRQ used by the camera by Right click the Camera in the Device Manager and select Properties and there click on Resources and select another IRQ, but click on General tab first and you will see if there is a conflict under the Device status, it will tell if any.

You might be able to get some details associated with the exclamation mark that may provide a hint. CAn you try to disconnect the camera, remove all traces of the camera driver and software, clear the temp folders, and restart the laptop. After restarting, install the software for the camera first. After that try to add the camera only after the software install says it's ready.
