I was not having any issues in installing WSUS 3.0 on a Windows 2003 SP1 machine but if I am opening update services MMC then I am getting an error that states "MMC Could not create the snap-in. MMC could not create snap-in. The snap-in might not have installed correctly." Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thanks
Have you found any solution for this issue? I was also getting similar error message all the time if I was trying to open Update Services MMC. I have also tried removing and reinstalling WSUS 3 many times but nothing is working. Can anyone tell me anything to get rid of this error? Thanks for any suggestions.
I have found a workaround for this error that I was also getting. There will be a file name mmx.exe.config in c:\windows\system32 directory which is used to create Citrix web interface for using the .NET 1.1. I just renamed the mmc.exe.config file to old and WSUS MMC was now working properly without the error.
There are different cause of " MMC Could not create the snap-in. MMC could not create snap-in. The snap-in might not have installed correctly." error. In my case i had to repair .net framework, You can access it through control panel>add/remove programs. You just have to Click on change and than repair.
