Disable Bluetooth passkey
I have got a Dell notebook and am running Windows XP on it. On this operating system I have unsecured the PIM transfer so every mobile phone can connect to my computer without any Passkey which is normally asked. But after upgrading to Vista, when a mobile phone want to send me some files then it need to define a passkey. So, can anyone tell me how to disable the Passkey for PIM file transfer on Vista? Thanks
Re: Disable Bluetooth passkey
You need to open the bluetooth panel applet and then go to the options tab. After that check mark "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer" and also "Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer". After that uncheck the "Alert me whenever a new Bluetooth device wants to connect" and then check mark the "Show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area. (Personal Prefrence)". That will do the trick
Re: Disable Bluetooth passkey
Thanks for the help but that didnt work for me. Maybe I didnt explain my question properly to you. I only want the mobile phone to send me files and it shouldnt ask for the passkey to connect. But when a phone is trying to send me any files then I am suppose to set a passkey for it, so I just want to remove this feature completely.
