Sony SonicStage and Vista
I've managed to get sonicstage 4.3 running, but it's a pain in the neck
to do so.
You have to go into your users directory on the drive with vista, find
the app data folder, then local, then hunt around for the sonicstage
temp files. There are a bunch of zip files in there, just extract the
ones that didn't install (in my case, sonic stage itself, the
sonicstage addon, and the ap driver), set each setup file to xp
compatability, then run them. Restart, and SS works!
Now to see if it actually transfers music to the walkman...
Re: Sony SonicStage and Vista...
Thanks! The only problem I have is Vista will not allow access to the
Applications Data folder despite administor rights? Any further ideas? Surely
Sony should sort it!
Re: Sony SonicStage and Vista...
Sony -should- sort it, but until Sony -do- sort it, this way works. To
access the Application Data folder, hmm, can you see it? If you can't it
is still hidden by Vista, press Alt, select Tools, Folder options, and
the View tab. Click the Show Hidden Files and Folders radial button,
then click OK.
If got to app data through my computer, C: (or the drive vista is on),
Users, (your login name), AppData, Local, Temp.
If you can see that and still can't get in, my only suggestion is to
log in as the primary Admin for that computer, although I can't see why
a normal Admin account wouldn't work.
Good luck, and it does actually transfer and play music fine!
