Network Drive Does not Remember Password (Vista)
I had mapped some network driver son my Vista Home Premium and provided it the login credentials for the same while setting up. I also set it to “connect at log on.” But whenever I try to access these mapped network drive, it asks me for my username and password. This is very annoying.
Isn’t there any way I can make my system remember these username and password. Please help.

As far as I know if you keep same username and password on both systems, it will not ask you for the same again.
Re: Network Drive Does not Remember Password (Vista)
Microsoft is trying the last 10 years (at least) to develop a proper OS…. Those people are completely useless!!!
Anyhow a solution to this problem is as follows (works in Vista):
1. map the networks driver of your desire -as usual- by right-clicking on ‘my computer’ etc.
2. create an “.bat” file with the following content:
net use \\<ip-address> <password> /user:<username>
For instance: net use \\192.168.1.11 mypassword /user:usern_name
3. place that ‘.bat’ file in the start-up directory of Windows, and that’s all !
Re: Network Drive Does not Remember Password (Vista)
In XP and 2000 Microsoft allowed the user to enter a different user name and password and have it saved so the user did not have to do this each time. With Vista this option is not accessible from the map network drive screen, you can use a different user name and password but the option to save it is not visible. The option is still embedded in the OS but I don't know how to make it visible. I know it still exists because when installing Peachtree part of the setup asks you to map a network drive and the option to save the user name and password is visible.
