Vista 80072EFD won't update
Windows Vista Business clean install on a business network with a sonicwall
firewall. Other windows workstations with no issues.
Yes I've seen the articles about opening ports and such, there are no
blocked ports and the local firewall is turned off (turned off the service).
Need a hand here.
RE: Vista 80072EFD won't update
I'm having the same problem....i can update my systems if they don't reside
on the domain. I'm the network admin and do not have any GPOs pushing down
any restrictions. Also XP gets updates just fine just now our two Vista
systems.

I'm also experiencing the exact same problem and at a loss as to where to go
further.

RE: Vista 80072EFD won't update
Hi I had the same issues and managed to fix it with the following.
we did have a WSUS server until recently, won't go into details but will be
getting back online soon. the setting fro this were done by group policy, i
beleive if you are running windows xp and you click windows update it goes
theough the website but on vista it must use what is setup on the group
policy, hence i removed the group policy settings and hey presto.
hope this helps some people.

RE: Vista 80072EFD won't update
I MIGHT of found the problem. This may not work on other systems. When the
window shows saying the updates were not installed. Go to the internet
options in the control panal and activate the connections tab. There will be
a lan settings button. When you use that a lan settings box is shown. Make
sure the auto detect, use automatic script, and proxy server are NOT
activated. This might help. Probably not.
