Stop error 000000c2 error Event Id 1003 Category (102)
I am using a desktop running with Windows XP SP2. I recently started getting some serious problem with the system. Most of the time when i try running any CD or DVD my system restarts itself with Bluescreen showing error message as follows:
“Stop error 000000c2 error Event Id 1003 Category (102)”
This doesn’t happen every time, but most of the time with any CD/DVD. After restart, as usual, I use to get a pop up message on the screen saying ‘Windows has recovered from a serious error’. And when I check Event Viewer, this is I what I find listed over there:
Date: 3/15/2007
Source: System error
Time: 3:10:17 PM
Category: (102)
Type: Error
Event Id: 1003
User: N/A
Computer: Mine
On the description part of the error looks like:
Error code 000000c2, parameter1 00000040, parameter2 00000000, parameter3 80000000, parameter4 00000000.
Can anyone please tell me what could be the problem and how can I get rid of the same? Many Thanks.
Re: Stop error 000000c2 error Event Id 1003 Category (102)
This probably seems to be the problem with DVD drive's drivers. Did you tried updating the drivers for your hardware? Do it and see of still you getting the BSOD when inserting any CD. As far as the Event Message you posted most of the problems leading to this event indicate faulty hardware, bugs in device drivers or incompatible hardware. So go to Device Manager, right click your DVD drive and select update driver.
