Blue screen of death
I am trying to install Windows Vista Home Premium on a desktop which was running fine with XP without problems since years. I also checked system requirements before buying this copy of Vista and my system meets all the requirements. But still when I’m trying to run the Vista setup, in between I get a BlueScreen and system restarts with an error message saying:
“STOP:0x0000001E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0x0000000009CF0992, 0x00000000000000008, 0x0000000009CF0992”
I tried few troubleshoots that I got on internet and tried running the setup several times but nothing helped. Do anyone here have any idea what could be the problem and how can I get rid of this? Thanks for all helps.

Re: Blue screen of death
There could be several reasons for the BSOD but the very first thing you need to checkout is just ensure that any new hardware or software is properly installed. Unplug each new hardware device, one at a time, to see if this resolves the error. Replace any hardware that proves faulty by this test. Also, try running any hardware diagnostic software supplied by your computer manufacturer. If this is a new installation of hardware or software, contact the manufacturer for any Windows XP Professional updates or drivers you might need.

Re: Blue screen of death
Thank you very much for your help ApPy10. I already tried out those things but that dint helped. After doing some research I came to know that my Motherboard BIOS was messing up with the default timing. So I changed it to user defined and force to run with standard timing. I tried again but the problem persists. SO now I think, as my vista is 64bt, it requires 64bit drivers.
