Back Up Did Not Complete Successfully, Error - 0x81000005
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium on new HP Pavilion laptop. I have scheduled the system to back up the entire computer on weekly basis. Yesterday when the backup was running, it reached upto 60% and failed with the following error:
Quote:
The backup did not complete successfully
An error occurred the following information might help you resolve the error:
There is not enough disk space to save the backup files.
Free up disk space or change your back up settings
(0x81000005)
Back up time - 02/17/07
Back up location - HP_RECOVERY (D:)
Any suggestions I would really like to use this functionality.
Re: Back Up Did Not Complete Successfully, Error - 0x81000005
The error is pointing out to D drive saying not having enough space. Can you check what the space left is in the D? Also is it the default dedicated partition set by HP for recovery/backup? If yes, you wont be able to save the backup in that drive anymore. You should choose some another partition for the same. If you don’t have any other partition, than better create one by shrinking any drive.
Re: Back Up Did Not Complete Successfully, Error - 0x81000005
I dint set D for saving the backup. I just started the backup process and System chose itself for the same.
Anyway, can you please tell me how can I expand my E drive that is just with 10GB space for saving the backups and all ? My C drive is more than 100GB. Can I use C space in E ?
