Did you get your new PC with Vista and having a hard time getting the Cumulative Security update to complete. (Error 800736cc) Microsoft Patch update KB942615
If it consistently attempt to install and fails try to install it by downloading it first to your hard drive and run it as a standalone patch.
Click the following Microsoft Link to get the update file.

Download it to your C drive folder and run it from that Folder.
Once you select the file Windows Vista will automatically install it in a standalone window successfully.
After you complete the update reboot your machine and it will config the new files.
Go to Windows update and it will still either show it pending or ready to install. Click on view updates and Vista will than recognize it has the patch and tell you your computer is updated.
