Re: Duplex printing bug head to toe - HP printer
One more note to extend a BIG thanks to Bob for his patch. I have an OfficeJet 7410 that had the same problem. When it was hooked up to my new Vista laptop, the duplex printing stopped working. I found instructions for switching two sided printing capability from "uninstalled" to "installed." Two sided printing started working, but the second page was flipped upside down.
Bob's patch was easy to install and has completely fixed my problem. I do want to share that when I first implemented Bob's fix, two sided printing worked immediately, but printing to the OfficeJet became extremely sluggish (five minutes plus just to select that printer and select two sided printing). Rebooting didn't help. Finally, I uninstalled the printer and re-installed the driver thinking that I would have to repeat Bob's patch. To my pleasant surprise, the re-load fixed everything and there was no need to re-do Bob's patch. Printer has worked great now for over two weeks.
Re: Duplex printing bug head to toe - HP printer
Maybe not the right thread to post this problem, because my problem is with XP and not Vista
My company uses standard HP MFP 4345 printers and have problems with
duplex printing. The second page that is printed is the wrong way up. I use the standard printing quickset for duplex printing.
I see that there are a lot of people with this kind of problem.
The configuration of the clients are:
Windows XP with SP3
Office 2003 with SP3
Printserver is Windows Server 2003 R2
The strange thing is that this problem doesn't occur with all of the documents they want to print on both sides. It's not in de setting of the document either because when i print this on another type of printer it's working fine.
This is what we have done already:
- Switched print drivers to PCL5 / 6 or the universal print driver.
- Created a new printqueue
- Replace duplex kit on printer. Installed latest firmware.
Does anyone have more suggestions, our print supplier isn't a big help so i'm trying another approach.
Re: Duplex printing bug head to toe - HP printer
I am also experiencing problems with the hp m2727 single sided printing
only. I am running both Vista and XP. It was working fine and then it
suddenly refused to duplex anymore.
Re: Duplex printing bug head to toe - HP printer
Got HP support. Got it fixed.
Here are the steps :
1. Verify that the All-in-One is connected to the computer via USB cable.
2. Go to Start, control panel>> Hardware & Sounds>> printers.
3. Click on Add a Printer icon. Click Next.
4. If a message asks Local or Network, choose Local, then click Next.
5. Choose USB001 as the port, then click Next.
6. In the Manufacturers list, choose HP.
7. In the Printer list, choose the HP Deskjet 6500 printer, then click Next.
8. The printer name should be listed as HP Deskjet 6500 Printer.
9. Click YES on Do you want your Windows based programs to use this printer as your default printer? Then click Next.
10. Click NO when it asks, Would you like to print a test page (recommended). Then click Finish.
If you don't have the 6500, chose the Deskjet 990c option.
This fixed it, finally, hallelujah.
