I am not able to download or configure Adobe Shockware player on my system. I keep on getting error which is based on some gi.dll file. The error is - Could not load the DLL library C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Shockwave10\gi.dll. And it crashes. It happens when the download completes and it was triggered for installation. What should I do here. Does re-installing the web browser will fix the same.
Go to Control Panel and first remove the older edition. Because you are trying to install that over the existing one due to which you are getting the error. Removing the older edition completely will fix the problem. Also check that you receive the right version of this player. Somehow in 64bit system there is always a error in installing them. You can run the setup manually which will offer you a much better way in dealing with the issue.
You need to move the macromed folder from C:\Windows\SysWOW64 to C:\Windows\system32 . Then the shockwave install program will work. Just copy and paste the macromed folder to the location required by the installer program then run install again.
