Another Limited or No Connectivity

I recently purchased a new computer that is running on Windows Vista but the issue is that we had setup the network using a crossover cable and they see each other just fine but the computer running Windows XP is unable to connect to the internet. An ICS is also set up by me. I have already tried many things and have run diagnostics quite a few times to solve this problem but it continuously gives me limited or no connectivity. It is also not able to get new ip settings automatically for the network adapter and says that there might be an issue with the network router or broadband modem. Any ideas?

It might be possible that the ICS client wont be receiving the IP from the Host. You could try to post the result of the client ipconfig/ all here that may be able to help you out.
