Intel 536 EP modem
I was using Vista RC2 earlier on this system that worked very fine for months. But now when I installed Vista RTM, I get Blue screen every time I shutdown the system. Yeah, only while shutting down the computer. It says “Intel modem driver problem. Go to Windows Update, choose hardware|modems.”
Well i tried searching windows updates for the said drivers, but dint found any. When I go to control panel under modems, there is no such Intel Modem listed. I tried searching Microsoft and Intel pages for the same but dint found any driver.
Can anyone suggest me some working solution for this blue screen please?

Re: Intel 536 EP modem
All right, if you are not getting it anywhere then simply go through the following: Go to Device Manager, locate the Modem, right click and select Uninstall.
Once uninstalled, restart the system and don’t do anything for few minutes. Let Vista find the modem and install it itself. Once done,it will search for the modem drivers itself on windows update.

Re: Intel 536 EP modem
Thank you very much for your reply friend. In addition to my post above, I would like to add that meanwhile I was searching my Windows update log and found that the drivers for the Intel modem were downloaded from "windows update" on Dec3,2006. Hope it will help you to suggest proper solution for my problem. Thanks again.

Re: Intel 536 EP modem
Isn’t there any URL mentioned in the log ? I mean the drivers would have been downloaded from some URL right. Check it again for the Dec3,2006. You can download the required drivers again from the same URL.
