Windows Vista Home Premium and Remote Desktop
I've been using Remote Desktop on my Windows XP machine at home for years to
connect to the office and work from home whenever necessary. I've heard that
Windows Vista Home Premium doesn't support Remote Desktop. Is this true ? I
thought Remote Desktop was supposed to work on all flavours of Windows.

Re: Windows Vista Home Premium and Remote Desktop
The remote desktop client is included in all editions of Vista. What is not
supported in Home Premium is incoming remote destkop connections, but you
should be able to connect to your work.

Re: Windows Vista Home Premium and Remote Desktop
Thanks for the response, Tom.
Is that still true if my machine at the office were running XP ?
Re: Windows Vista Home Premium and Remote Desktop
The Vista Remote Desktop client can connect to all of the older OS systems.
There may be some issues going the other direction.
Re: Windows Vista Home Premium and Remote Desktop
Tom,
I came across this thread and see that it is possible to connect to an
XP computer from Vista Home Premium. I'm currently trying to do that
and getting the message that I cannot connect to the remote computer.
I can, however connect to a server running the 64 bit version of XP and
from there remote into the computer I'm trying to get into. Any ideas
about what I can look at to get directly connected?
Thanks
