How to install Intel 82801ER SATA RAID Controller on Windows Vista
I am not able to get Intel 82801ER SATA RAID Controller work on Windows Vista. I was able to update the drivers to 5.5.0.1035 but still it is not detected. My OS is Windows Vista Ultimate. I thought upgrading to a new OS will offer me a much better support for using multiple drivers. But somehow this is a bit irritating. I am getting a continuous pop-up on my screen about a incompatible driver. Does clean formatting can help me.

Why you want to clean format your system. You need proper drivers. Did you added any previous drivers in your system. I had a similar desktop where Vista is not able to identify the RAID controller. While on XP this works quiet well. You need to find the drive disc that comes with your chipset or motherboard. In that you can locate the actual driver. And on that basis also you can find the new version of drivers used to run RAID controller in your system.

This never worked me. I had wasted long time for that. I had installed different kind of drivers but nothing worked out. I am using a third party SATA controller which came with a single disc. That is the only common driver which is used on various system, but it is not working for Vista.
